I know this girl who got a huskey puppy (called Cassie) a year ago. She did the 4-H Fair with her in dog obidience. Cassie did wonderful. Next years step is to take your dog off the leash. Cassies mommy said that you can't take her off the leash, so her daughter was really dissapointed. Cassie also has, what they call, a "barking issue". Cassie barks a lot, because she isn't getting enough attention from her family. They used an inhumane shock color on her, but she still barked. So, now, they want to get rid off her because, 1-she barks 2-she can't compete in the 4-h fair.
I was sooooo mad when i heard. They are giving her to this lady who has eight other dogs, and who keeps them under horrible conditions (to my belief). They are getting their new dog tommorow (only two days after getting rid of Cassie) from the Pet Refuge. I volentiered there for a while, and keep up to date with new arrivals and adoptions. I know all of those dogs there, and I can't stand to ssee them go to them.
I talked to them over the phone, trying to convince them not to get a dog. This is the summary of the conversation:
Me:so, why are you getting rid of Cassie?
Them: oh! shes such a nuisance, and she can't compete in fair. we hate that dog.
Me: well, cant you teach her how to stay off the leash?
Them: oh, definatly not!! huskeys are the dumbest of dogs, the first thing they say about huskeys is they'r competely disobidient
Me: they arent dumb!!! didn't you research on huskeys? if thats the first thing that it says about huskeys, and you "knew" she was going to be a nuisance, why did you get her?
Them: she was a gift
Me (yea right!!):okay....
Them: yea, so we're getting a new dog. a corgie
Me: wat if itll be a "nuisance" to?
Them: oh! it wont!!
Me:how are you so sure
Them: we just know! corgies are such wonderful, smart dogs
Me: thants wat you said about cassie when you got her
Them: no we didnt.....
Me: im not going to argue anymore about this...
ect.....you get the point
They also "ridded" of their rat because they said she was mean. That wasn't true, and she only bite because that family wasn't spending enough time with her.
They also got rid of their wonderful horse, Prince, because he couldn't compete with the girl riding him.
I hope Pet Refuge doesn't give them a dog. Im gonna die of they do.
